How it works

What is Consensus AI?
Consensus AI is a multi-model AI platform. Instead of trusting one chatbot, you ask one question and get answers from eight leading AI models, which can debate and score each other before a final answer is synthesized. It is not affiliated with Consensus.app, the academic research search engine.
How does Debate mode work?
All eight models answer your question independently. Each model then critiques the others and scores them on 6 criteria, including factual grounding, logic, completeness and clarity. The top-scoring answer gets rewritten with the strongest points from every model, and you can see the full score table.
How does Auto mode pick a model?
A router classifies your prompt as research, logic, writing, image or general, then sends it to the model that handles that type best. For example, it uses Perplexity for current-events research, o4-mini for math and logic problems, and ChatGPT for writing and editing.
Why use multiple AI models instead of just ChatGPT?
Every model has blind spots and can state wrong facts confidently. When several independent models agree, the answer is more likely to be right. When they disagree, that's a signal to dig deeper. Consensus AI makes both visible.
